High-tech window shopping

A trendy Cape Town store has created an interactive window display that lets you browse the store from the street.

The Fringe Arts store, with TouchFoundry, have created a high-tech window display that gives passersby the ability to explore an entire range of products without having to enter the store.

Using a Microsoft Kinect, the software recognises window shoppers as they stand in front of the display and you use hand gestures to navigate content on screen, just like you would when using the Kinect for games.

This particular display is centred on the Smith Jewellery range created by South African designer Anna Raimondo. Using the interactive display you can explore a range of different Smith collections and aren't limited to what's in the window.

You can see the display for yourself at 99B Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town.
