Samsung launches the new Galaxy A with a splash

Hold on to your beach umbrellas - the Samsung Galaxy A range is coming soon, with an ocean of surprise new features.

Hold on to your beach umbrellas - the Samsung Galaxy A range is coming soon, with an ocean of surprise new features.

Samsung is taking their reliable, excellent value mid-range Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 smartphones up a notch this year. Here, we reveal the fab new features and let you know how you can get your hands on one with Vodacom.

Built for spontaneity

Samsung's S series, their flagship range, boasts an IP68 rating for the phones' dust- and water-resistant qualities. And now, for the first time, they've extended this rating to their Galaxy A range.

This means you can take your phone with you wherever you go - beach trips, 4x4 outings in the desert, your kids' swimming lessons, your family Sunday lunch table, gardening in your veggie patch, your weekly Park Run, even the theme park where your kids can't get enough of the waterslide - and capture life's craziest, most spontaneous moments as they happen.

Life is colourful ...

And that's why the Samsung Galaxy A range is now flaunting new, premium colours. When you get your new Samsung A3, A5 or A7 phone through Vodacom, you'll be able to choose between Black Sky or Gold Sand.

Say cheese!

The Samsung Galaxy A's new and improved camera will make even everyday snaps a sight to behold. Here are some of our favourite improvements:

  • Selfies FTW: It's never been easier to take a perfect selfie. On your Samsung Galaxy A phone, all you need to do is touch anywhere on the screen, thanks to the floating camera button. You can even use the screen as a front flash if you need to brighten up the mood.
  • Stay stable: The enhanced front and rear cameras on the Samsung Galaxy A phones now offer more accurate autofocus, giving you vibrantly clear photos, even in low light.
  • More fun photos: Instant filters and effects take your pics to the next level, and to change the mode of the camera all you need to do is swipe. There's even a Food Mode for you eager 'grammers!

Better battery, bigger storage

We all know that when it comes to storage space on your device, size really does matter. Samsung has expanded the storage with a MicroSD slot (up to 256GB) on the Samsung Galaxy A phones, so you'll have plenty of space for all the photos and videos you'll be taking.

The phones also offer a better battery life, and the Always On Display feature means you can check the time and date at a glance, without waking up your phone when it's on standby, which will save you battery power.
