1. Luther S1 - S4

But Luther stands apart as a series full of edge, action and brooding suspense. Idris Elba returns as the hero, a police detective from London who loves to hunt down serial killers. 2. Younger S1 - S2

Liza’s ploy to pretend she is only 26 came to a head in her relationship with Josh in the first season. But don’t believe that's the end of it - especially when Liza’s daughter returns from a trip to India and ends up getting a tattoo … from Josh! Meanwhile, Liza’s work situation is getting crazier, plus she might have met someone closer to her real age. 3. Red Band Society S1

Medical dramas always show us the lives of the doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff at a hospital. But what about the patients? What about a group of teenagers with different serious conditions, keeping them together in the pediatric ward? Kara, Charles, Emma, Jordi, Leo and Dash would never have been friends elsewhere, but at the hospital they find a way to get to know each other. 4. Reign S1 - S3

Reign is a saucy and sexy show about a young queen and the alliances she has to forge to keep her power. Reign focuses on Mary, Queen of Scots, who ascended the throne at a young age. 5. Hello Ladies S1 

Stuart is a British web designer, but decides he needs more sunshine in his life. So he moves to Los Angeles, hoping for good weather, big parties and gorgeous ladies - perhaps even the woman of his dreams. But our man Stuart has one problem: he’s not the smoothest cat. In fact, he’s more like a blind dog walking into doors. But that won’t stop him from trying to make it in the city of angels. 6. Off the Map S1

A group of doctors head to a remote part of the South American jungle, where they work under the guidance of Dr Benjamin Keeton, a renowned humanitarian. But while they were a certain brand of doctor in urban hospitals, the jungle demands far more from these professionals. As they push the limits of their jobs, they also explore the tribulations and joys of their personal lives. You can’t run away from your past or your feelings, even in the jungle where you are Off The Map.

7. How to Make it in America S1 

Everything is still possible in America - if you know how to hustle. Ben and Cam are best friends, tired of seeing the world go ahead without them. They set their sights on New York’s competitive fashion scene, making up for their lack of knowledge with their street smarts, clever schemes and a bit of help from their friends. When the pair stumble upon a shipment of high-quality denim, they decide to create a line of high-fashion jeans. Hey, if you’re going to do something, go big! HBO series, so expect quality.

8. Call the Midwife S1 - S3

Set in the working class neighbourhood of Poplar in London’s East End in the 1950s, Call the Midwife is based on the memoirs of a real-life midwife. The central character is new nurse Jenny Lee, who arrives at a midwives outfit to help deliver babies. She and her coworkers soon become intimately involved with the hardknock lives of their patients and community. A massive hit, this is one of the best, most heartwarming dramas on television.
