iPhone 6s tips and tricks

The iPhone 6s comes with a host of new functionalities. Here are our tips to get the most out of this hot new smartphone.

Live Photos, 3D Touch, Peek and Pop – these are buzzwords you're bound to hear, now that everyone's talking about the new Apple iPhone 6s

Wondering what they mean? Here are some tips to get you started.

Live Photos
If you're crazy about taking pics, you'll love this feature. It captures a few seconds of video before and after each shot. You can bring static images to life by simply pressing down hard on the image in the Photos app.

Peek and Pop
This functionality, which is part of 3D Touch, is a useful way to preview emails or web links. By pressing down on the link or email, you will be able to get a quick look at it. And with a swipe you get more options. Let go to pop out of the screen, press harder to pop into it.

A cool tip is that you can adjust the sensitivity of 3D touch under Settings > General > Accessibility > 3D Touch.

Hands-free Siri
Even if your phone is locked and the screen is off, Siri can launch when you say 'Hey Siri'. In addition to helping with searches, Siri will push notifications and reminders for meetings and appointments in your calendar.

Customise, customise, customise
Swipe left to right on the home screen and Siri Suggestions will come up on Spotlight. The more you use the feature, the better it will be at customising suggestions for your searches.

Apps on the move
3D Touch has added another way to open a new app: press the left side of the screen and swipe to the right to switch to an app you recently used. By applying different levels of pressure, you can open a whole multitasking menu.
