Nourishing Our Future: How Vodacom Is Contributing To Sustainable Food Security

In October 2023 Vodacom activated World Food Day initiatives across the country, to contribute to the Food and Agriculture Organization’s fight against hunger.

World Food Day is an initiative created by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1981. Observed on 16 October annually, the initiative strives to bring attention to the critical issue of hunger and promote efforts to ensure food security for everyone.

Each year Vodacom joins the fight against hunger on World Food Day with various activations aimed at creating a world where no one has to suffer from hunger. In 2023 the FAO themed the day around “Nourishing Our Future”, and Vodacom once again jumped aboard, focusing on creating sustainable food resources that, like the theme suggests, will provide food solutions for the future.
