Samsung unveils the Note 4

The latest premium phablet from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 4, was unveiled last night in Berlin. Here's a quick look at what you can expect.

The 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a big and beautiful phablet that adds a number of improvements, but retains many of the great features of previous models.

Design

Design-wise, the Note 4 looks very much like its predecessor, the Note 3, but you'll see some nice updates including a new metal frame – similar to the Galaxy Alpha. It has a soft faux-leather back and an improved AMOLED Quad HD screen. Expect a much brighter and sharper screen with rich, vibrant colours.

There are also enhancements to the Multi Window feature that make better use of the large screen. You'll be able to toggle between full, split or popup screens making it easier to access the apps you need.

Some other nice new features include Snap Note, which you can use to take photos of classroom boards or notes and save instantly to the S Note application. It also features a heart-rate monitor and fingerprint scanner.

Camera

There's a decent 16MP rear-facing camera and a 3.7MP front-facing camera which has a wide 120-angle, ideal for group selfies.

S Pen

The S Pen, which has always been the best feature of the Note range, has also had some upgrades. The Pen is even more sensitive than before and should offer a more realistic pen experience.

Performance

The Galaxy Note 4 runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and will have either a quad-core or octa-core processor, depending on the region. There is 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of storage which you can expand using MicroSD up to 64GB.
