This Workers Day (1st of May) Vodacom would like to pay tribute to our dedicated staff, who are working tirelessly throughout these trying times.
Below are just some of the ways we aim to support our staff through different facets of their work and personal lives:
Wellbeing
Our Employee Engage App features a Corona Virus FAQs tab, with information on fitness, nutrition and ergonomics, as well as emotional and medical support. Our Wellbeing team run an informative Workplace Health & Wellbeing Group, with great health tips and a #FitChallengethat can be done at home.
EAP
Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is available 24/7 and offers a little extra support to our employees to help them manage life’s everyday challenges. It is available by telephone, email, instant messaging and online for free.
ICASA-on-the-go app
Essential staff on site
We have taken extensive hygiene measures to protect the health and safety of essential staff who are continuing to work at our offices over the lockdown period and have implemented Social Distancing protocol.
Staff working from home
We have developed the Best Practice for Remote Working Guide to ensure staff have the best experience while working through the lockdown.
Leave
If staff are unwell, caring for others or unable to work (either on-site or remotely), they will be able to use annual or sick leave days if necessary. We are also being flexible, enabling our people to organise working hours around other commitments at home.
Managing time at home
We have implemented a daily flexible meeting-free period.
