Apps that allow you to download now to enjoy later

Download your favourite music and videos that you can stream offline, using no data.

This summer you can still stream your music and videos no matter where you are, with these apps that allow you to download now to enjoy later.

1. YouTube Music Premium

If you're a YouTube Music Premium member, you can enjoy music offline by downloading your songs and videos to your mobile device. You'll however need to reconnect to the internet at least once every 30 days to maintain your downloads.

There are two ways to download music to listen to offline for Android:

  • Turn on smart downloads. The app will automatically download for you based on your previous listening history - no action is required for you!
  • Choose specific playlists, songs, or albums to download.

There are two ways to download music to listen to offline for Apple:

  • Turn on your offline mixtape. The app will automatically download content for you based on your previous listening history. Note: If you turn off your listening history, you can still listen to music offline via a generic offline mixtape.
  • Choose specific playlists, songs, or albums to download.

2. Netflix

When you're connected to wifi you can download your favourite movies or series on the Netflix app and you can stream them offline, without it using any data.

On the app, you will need to tap on any TV show or movie and look for the downward-facing arrow to see whether it can be downloaded, or filter by what is available for download. Not all titles are available for download.

3. Spotify Premium and free version

For Premium, you can download albums, playlists, and podcasts. For the free version of Spotify, you can download podcasts. You can download up to 10,000 songs on each of up to 5 different devices. Go online at least once every 30 days to keep your downloads. This is so Spotify can collect play data to compensate artists.

4. Apple Music & Apple Podcast

Apple Music subscribers can add and download songs and videos from Apple Music. To play music when you’re not connected to the internet, you must first download it. The music you add to your iPhone is also added to other devices if you’re signed in to the iTunes Store and App Store using the same Apple ID and have Sync Library turned on (go to Settings > Music, then turn on Sync Library).

In the Podcasts app, you can download, save, and share podcast episodes. Download an episode so you can play it when you’re offline:

  1. Tap Library, then tap a show to see its information page.

  2. Swipe left on an episode, then tap the download or save icons.

5. Audible or Amazon Kindle

Audible Plus and Audible Premium Plus members can download Plus Catalog titles on their Audible app. This allows you to listen to these titles without having an internet connection. To download a Plus Catalog title:

  1. Open the Audible app and tap on Home.
  2. Browse the selection and tap on a title with an “Included” badge.
  3. Tap on Add to Library.
  4. Go to your Library and tap on the title to download it.

Manage content services in VodaPay App

If you want to look at all your content services and manage them individually, rather than visiting different platforms, use the VodaPay App After logging in, select the ‘More’ tab from the menu at the bottom of the screen. Under ‘My Account’, select ‘Content Services.

Here you will see all your current subscriptions to WASP services, V-Live, and add to bill services. You can choose to deactivate individual services or deactivate them all. There is also an option to block all future content services from being added to your account.
