How Vodacom is contributing to Gender Equality

Find out how Vodacom has contributed to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.

The United Nations created Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to transform the world by presenting a unified vision to end poverty, reduce inequality and prevent further harm to the planet. We've already seen how Vodacom has contributed to the UN SDG 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing – and the UN SDG 4 – Quality Education. Now take a look at how we have contributed to UN SDG 5: Gender Equality in the 2019 financial year.

Key targets

There are two key targets for UN SDG 5: Gender Equality. They are:

  1. to end all forms of discrimination against women and girls everywhere, and
  2. to ensure women's full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership.

Vodacom's commitment

Vodacom aims to provide women with access to life-enhancing services that help to unlock socio-economic opportunities. We also want to ensure inclusivity of women in the workplace.
