How Vodacom is contributing to Good Health and Wellbeing

Take a look at the results of our contribution to the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing – for the 2019 financial year.

The United Nations created Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to transform the world by presenting a unified vision to end poverty, reduce inequality and prevent further harm to the planet. Vodacom uses these as a framework in our own quest to Connect for Good, and each year we develop a report to highlight our key contributions to the UN SDGs. For the next few weeks, we'll be looking at how Vodacom aligns with the different goals.

First, here are the results of our contribution to Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing for the 2019 financial year.

Key targets

There are two key targets for Goal 3:

  1. to reduce the global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030, and
  2. to achieve universal health coverage.

Vodacom's commitment

Vodacom aims to provide mobile health solutions, support vaccination programmes, improve medicine stock control, increase awareness of health issues.
