The day after Thanksgiving in the US has become known as Black Friday – a day on which retailers drastically slash prices in massive sales.
It’s followed by Cyber Monday, when online stores follow suite with crazy specials. Last year, it’s estimated that Thanksgiving weekend drove US$57.4 billion in sales across the US.
This shopping tradition has gained traction internationally, particularly on e-commerce websites, and while the scale is not anything like that seen in the US, South African retailers are catching on.
Vodacom is no exception and this year, for the first time, will join in the shopping bonanza.
Nazia Rajab, Online & Self Service: Merchandising & Deals management, says Vodacom has decided to join in this year because ‘we want to give our customers the chance to enjoy awesome devices without breaking the bank, whilst still enjoying worry free connectivity on our network.’
Customers can expect discounts of up to 70% on selected prepaid devices, up to 50% off selected contract deals and one or two surprise combo deals that’s sure to excite the gadget crazy folk.
If the initiative is a success, Vodacom will continue to offer customers more discounts and savings every year.
When you order online from Vodacom, you get FREE delivery, FREE SIM and FREE connection.
