Here is how Vodacom is contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 9.

The United Nations is transforming the world through its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have already seen how Vodacom contributed to Goal 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing)Goal 4 (Quality Education)Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) in the 2019 financial year. Now let's take a look at what Vodacom is doing to contribute to Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Key targets

Vodacom is committed to the following targets for Goal 9:

  1. To develop quality, reliable infrastructure to support economic development and human wellbeing, and
  2. To significantly increase access to information and communications technology.

Vodacom's commitment

Vodacom strives to remove barriers to mobile connectivity, particularly focusing on infrastructure investment, affordability, digital skills, the gender gap and the availability of locally relevant content and services.
