One connection, two services: Cut your overheads with 5G/FWA Internet and VoIP from Vodacom Business

Copied!

Voice and internet connections are crucial for your business communications, but do you need separate services for both? See how you can integrate your internet and VoIP to simplify connectivity and help cut costs.

Internet and phone services are essential for most business operations. But if you’re paying one provider for your internet connection and another for traditional phone lines or VoIP, your connectivity costs can quickly add up.

There is a simpler way to stay connected. With Vodacom’s 5G/FWA (Fixed Wireless Access), businesses can use the same connection for both internet and voice services. This helps business owners reduce costs while simplifying how their connectivity is managed.

Why combine your business internet and voice services?

Think about the connectivity services your business pays for every month. There may be an internet bill, a separate phone service and possibly another provider managing your VoIP calls.

Consolidating these services means your existing business internet connection can work harder for your business.

5G/FWA supports IP Talk, Vodacom’s Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service. Instead of relying on a separate traditional telephone line, VoIP allows calls to be made over your business internet connection at a fraction of the cost.

That means one connection can support the online tools your team uses every day, while also keeping your business connected to customers, suppliers and colleagues by phone. If you have a switchboard PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange), our VoIP connects to most PBXs (Private Branch Exchanges) without the need for a separate phone or PBX. If you don’t have a switchboard, you can buy IP phones if you prefer a tactile calling experience or use a soft client on your laptop.

How does VoIP help your business save money?

For an SME, reducing recurring monthly expenses can make a meaningful difference over time.

With Vodacom Business IP Talk you get a dedicated voice channel and savings of up to 20% on your monthly voice account. Businesses can also make free on-net calls from one Vodacom IP Talk-connected site to another, which can be particularly useful if your business operates from multiple locations.

VoIP calls are also charged on true per second billing so you only pay for what you use.

Get started with 5G/FWA and IP Talk

5G*/FWA brings you a wide range of speed-based plans to keep your employees and devices online. You start off by selecting one that suits your connectivity requirements. Depending on the location of your premises, you can choose between a plug-and-play indoor solution or a professionally installed outdoor solution. You can also opt for an outdoor solution if line of sight is an issue; for example, overgrown vegetation.

Then you can add-on VoIP to your business internet service. Each voice connection needs a geographical or non-geographical number. There is a once-off activation fee of R8,20 per IPTalk number.

When it comes to the total costing, you will need to pay for a number, an IP phone, or your own existing PABX or soft client, as well as the calls that you make. You can either buy VoIP bundles to make calls** or get billed monthly based on your usage.

Is 5G/FWA internet and VoIP right for your business?

Combining services can make sense for SMEs that want to simplify their connectivity without maintaining separate internet and voice solutions.

It can be particularly useful for small offices, growing businesses and businesses with multiple locations that need reliable access to both online services and voice calling.

Instead of thinking about internet and voice as two separate requirements, 5G/FWA and IP Talk bring them together over one connection.
