Vodacom Origins of Golf is a series of pro-am tournaments that gives amateurs the chance to play alongside some of the leading golfers in South Africa, as part of the winter leg of the Sunshine Tour.

The Sunshine Tour is one of the six leading men’s tours which make up the international Federation of PGA Tours.

The 2017 Vodacom Origins of Golf will partner 60 leaders of industry from across the country with up-and-coming professional golfers in a two-day Pro-Am tournament.

In keeping with tradition, Vodacom Origins of Golf will always pay homage to the best golf courses in South Africa and internationally.

It is a platform for the next generation of pro golfers to hone their skills in tournament play for six months during the South African winter.

The winning amateur at the Vodacom Origins of Golf Final will be invited to participate in the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open Pro-Am, to be hosted at Heritage Resorts, Mauritius from 30 November to 3 December 2017.

The winning amateur will also be interviewed on the Dan Nicholl Show on SuperSport, that will be aired in Mauritius.

Tournament schedule

The 2017 events will take place on the following dates:

• Western Cape: Arabella Golf Club - 14-19 August

• KwaZulu-Natal: Zimbali - 28 August - 2 September

• Eastern Cape: St Francis Links - 18-23 September

• Central: Sishen Golf Club - 9-14 October

• FINAL: Eastern Cape: Simola - 30 October - 4 November
