An Educational Hub for All Things Digital

The Digital Skills Hub is part of the Vodacom Digital Literacy program. Powered by Vodacom’s Techstart initiative and delivered in partnership with some heavy-hitting tech giants, the Digital Skills Hub equips young people with the core digital skills needed for success in the modern workforce.

And it’s Free

That’s right: all the courses offered through Vodacom’s Digital Literacy programme are completely free of charge, and many are zero-rated for Vodacom users, which means they won’t even use up your mobile data.

Access Top Future Fit Digital Courses

The Digital Skills Hub launched in 2024, and we’re targeting 1 million learners (aged 18 to 35) by 2027. It’s a pan-African initiative, covering South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Lesotho, Egypt (via Talimy), the DRC (via VodaEduc) and Kenya (via Industry Digital Talent Program).

The courses are created by Vodacom, our partners Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, as well as local institutions. The learning modules are self-paced, with a mix of classroom-based and online training.  The courses cover 14 core digital skills that reflect the evolving needs of the digital economy and that Vodacom has identified as being essential for the tech-driven future. They are:

• Cybersecurity

• Machine Learning

Learn Key Digital Skills

Courses are categorised under Technical Skills and Professional Skills, and vary in duration from 30 minutes to 6 hours. Technical Skills courses include topics like Introduction to Cloud 101, Getting Started with Databases, Working with User Data, and so on. The Professional Skills courses, meanwhile, cover topics like Goal Setting, Networking, Communication, and Resumé Creation.

You don’t need any prior experience in these fields or subjects, so it’s ideal for students, job seekers, aspiring entrepreneurs or really anybody who wants to upskill for the digital economy.
