How can I get an Easy2Own smartphone?
To get started, find your nearest Vodacom store and head there with your ID or passport, and proof of address. Browse the Easy2Own smartphone collection and apply for the one you like. The Easy2Own range usually includes smartphones from Samsung, OPPO and Vodacom’s own Kicka.
You will also need some money for a deposit and a Vodacom prepaid SIM card which can be bought in store.
How does Easy2Own work?
The great thing about Easy2Own is that you pay off your device using airtime on your own terms – based on your budget, when you need your device and in your own time up to 24 months.
Once your application has been approved, you are required to pay a small deposit upfront – that cost will depend on which smartphone you choose.
Going forward you’ll pay off your device by purchasing daily, weekly or monthly “Unlock Bundles.” Get up to 3GB of data and 300 voice minutes for the month when you buy daily Unlock Bundles from R6.50 a day; but depending on your device, it could go up to R12.50 a day. With every recharge, you stay connected and pay off your smartphone.
Unlock Bundles literally unlock your device and keep it functional. When you don’t purchase Unlock Bundles, the phone will be placed on hard lock and can’t be used until the account is updated. The more you recharge, the better for you. With every bundle purchase you earn 5 times more VodaBucks which you can use to buy more data and redeem discounts and vouchers on groceries, fuel and more.
