The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has the same striking dual-edge design as the S6, but with a bigger screen, faster processor, and long-lasting battery. It’s essentially a big-screen version of the original, smaller curved-screen flagship device.

The S6 Edge+ has a large 5.7-inch display which places it firmly in the phablet category – a hybrid smartphone/tablet designation (Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display).

However, there is an Apps Edge feature on the Edge 6+ which allows users to pull up a list of favourite apps by swiping in from either side of the screen. The same gesture can pull up top contacts on the regular S6 Edge. 

The curved portion of the screen can be used to keep an eye on a ticker tape scrolling stream of Twitter trends or sports scores, for example.

Still present is the People Edge feature which pulses a different colour for five contacts you choose when you receive a call from them and the phone is locked and face-down.

The S6 Edge+ has a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation so images are detailed and sharp even in low light, or if the user’s hand is a little shaky.
