The best business podcasts of 2020

We have put together a list of some of the best business podcasts around, to provide you with the motivation and insight you need to succeed.

Are you looking to expand your business with insights from top local and international experts? Taking the time to listen to some of the top business podcasts from around the world would be a good use of your time. We have put together a list of some of the best around, which should provide you with the motivation and insight you need to succeed.

Local Podcasts

The Money Show

Bruce Whitfield, host of the popular Money Show on Cape talk and 702, brings his signature easy, relatable style to this podcast of the same name. He plays host to major players in the business arena, from blue-chip company CEOs to industry experts, and the entrepreneurs making waves in South Africa. Bruce interviews a well-known guest about their attitudes to money, with a focus on the big-name disruptors,  innovators and people and companies driving the next industrial revolution.

The Leadership Platform

The Leadership Platform is a show on the fringe of change in leadership development, debating leadership issues and casting the spotlight on leaders. Adriaan Groenewald as an accomplished author and leadership advisor has been interviewing and working with top leaders for more than 15 years, and is therefore perfectly placed to present the show. The show includes the Youth Leadership Platform, presented by Bongani Tau.

Business Unusual

Colin Cullis presents stories of Business Unusual - those people and companies driving the next industrial revolution. The best disruptors are focused on customers, not products, they use technology rather than fear it, they create new opportunities often where regulations don't exist and they are backed by those with deep pockets and an appetite for risk.

International

The Biz Chix

If you’re a female entrepreneur that feels like she needs guidance and community on her rise to the top, then this is the show for you. In addition to the solid business advice you will find in the other shows on this list, this podcast provides advice tailored specifically to the challenge’s women face in today’s workplace. The host of the show is career coach Natalie Eckdahl, who has three young children and runs a large community for female entrepreneurs. As such, she’s an expert at figuring out how to outsource different home and career tasks to maximize your efficiency as well as helping individuals craft a growth-oriented mindset that will serve them well for generations to come.

How I built this

Guy Raz treats listeners to the stories of the world’s most profitable, unique, and interesting companies like only a journalist can. He interviews the founders of famous companies but also gives in-depth treatment to the story of the brand and what sets it apart. At just 30 minutes an episode, it’s easy to make this podcast part of your weekly routine and is appealing to a wide audience. Raz has a prolific journalism career, having worked in some of the world’s most conflict-ridden regions; I’d imagine interviewing friendly entrepreneurs is a welcome break for him, and listening will be a delightful break from your daily grind.

Rise and Grind

This show is all about the secrets wildly successful people have used to make money and utilize their time as effectively as possible. By out-strategizing and out-hustling your competitors, you are certain to rise to the top. One of the best things about Daymond's podcast is his access to some of the highest performing people on the planet, this guy has connections! He speaks with other entrepreneurs like Gary Vaynerchuk and Barbara Corcoran. If you feel a connection with Daymond on Shark Tank, you will love hearing him on this podcast. There are only a few dozen episodes of this podcast so far, but John’s 2018 book by the same name was wildly popular.
